Back in November, Henry Cavill talked about his hopes that he would play Superman again.

The actor said: “I’ve not given up the role. There’s a lot I have to give for Superman yet. A lot of storytelling to do. A lot of real, true depths to the honesty of the character I want to get into. I want to reflect the comic books. That’s important to me. There’s a lot of justice to be done for Superman. The status is: You’ll see.”

Well, it looks like Henry Cavill is getting his wish, if these latest reports are anything to go by.

Deadline reports that the actor in talks to reprise his role as Superman in the Warner Bros. DC Universe.

The project apparently won't be a standalone film, or a 'Man of Steel' sequel. It may be a cameo in one of DC's upcoming projects such as 'Shazam 2', Dwayne Johnson’s 'Black Adam' or 'Aquaman 2'.

Warner Bros. and Cavill’s reps haven't offered comments on the revelation as yet.

The news comes off the back of the Zack Snyder cut of 'Justice League' coming to life at last.

We'd love to see Henry Cavill's take on Clark Kent's alter-ego capped off with something like an iteration of 'The Death of Superman' to do his performance justice, but maybe that's just us.

In any case, Cavill has gone on to lead Netflix's 'The Witcher' series now so he's doing just fine.
