Their last collaboration 'Lady Bird' was a huge success. Now, Greta Gerwig and Saoirse Ronan are reuniting for an adaptation of a classic novel.

News of the Gerwig-directed 'Little Women', adapted from Louisa May Alcott's 1868 novel about the four March sisters, first broke almost a year ago.

Now, the first images from the set of the film - which also stars Ronan's 'Lady Bird' co-star Timothee Chalamet, as well as Emma Stone and Meryl Streep - have been revealed by Vanity Fair.

Saoirse will play the tomboyish Jo, while Chalamet will play her love interest, Laurie. The Irish actress joked: "“I loved that in Lady Bird, he was the one that broke my heart, but I got to break his heart in Little Women."

It's the 8th film adaptation of Alcott's novel and set for a December release in the US, with a tentative January 17th date for Ireland.
