There was a lot of excitement last year when a sequel to classic movie 'Twins' was revealed to (finally) be in the works.

The Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito film, released in 1988, was a huge hit - and 'Triplets' was rumoured as far back as 2012.

According to Schwarzenegger, none other than Eddie Murphy was being lined up for the role of their long-lost third brother.

However, after the initial announcement - where Schwarzenegger confirmed that it was happening and the script was finished - things went pretty quiet.

Now, Arnie has given an update on the project during an interview with Howard Stern, saying that it was still at the writing stage, which contradicts his earlier comments.

"We're at the writing stage," he said. "Our mutual friend has been dragging his feet a little bit, (director) Ivan Reitman. He wants to protect the first one. He's worried that the second one may be better, or worse... and I get that."

He added: "I totally understand, but we have to convince him to move faster. People have come up with great stories, and I can't wait to do it because Eddie Murphy will be absolutely hilarious."
