And we were like, baby, baby, baby oh! Justin Bieber's London gig ground to a halt last night after the teen pop sensation suffered breathing difficulties on stage.
Footage uploaded to YouTube shows the Biebs' manager Scooter Braun explaining the situation to the audience. It's believed that Justin was treated by medical experts backstage for up to fifteen minutes before he returned to finish his set. Word is he was told to call the whole thing off, but refused to let down his adoring Beliebers.
Later, reports flooded in from the likes of The Mirror and TMZ, who claimed Justin collapsed backstage after the show and was taken to hospital for treatment. They said some fans reported seeing their idol faint and hit his head on a speaker, but sure y'know what young wans these days are like with their ideas eh?
E! News cleared everything up by contacting Bieber's rep. "He got oxygen from emergency personnel. He insisted on finishing the show. He is on the way to the hospital right now," the representative said.
Anyway, you can cool the jets, because the latest is that he's doing just fine, having had a thorough examination in a top London medical facility. Braun took to Twitter to confirm Justin was 'tough as nails', tweeting 'tough kid. proud night. once again he always finishes the show. full out. true pro. now get better and rest up! strange night but proud nt' (sic).
It wasn't long before Bieber found the time to tweet himself, letting the Beliebers know that he was on the mend and thanking them for their support. "Getting better. thanks for everyone pulling me thru tonight. best fans in the world. figuring out what happened. thanks for the love" (sic) he tweeted. And then he managed to find the time to throw a few snaps of himself chilling in hospital up on Instagram, y'know, just for fun.
Sure does add another tick to the 'worst London trip ever' list though eh? Not only did JB claim the city's paps ruined his birthday, he p*ssed off his fans by failing to show up on time on Monday night and getting a pretty hefty fine for it, before parading around the place in a gas mask once or twice and getting a slap on the wrist from his record company for his odd behaviour.
The Mirror says a pal of Justin's told them he was feeling a bit tired after a long week in the English capital. Yeah, and all that reported partying had nothing to do with it whatsoever... We hope he takes this as a sign that it might be time to slow it down.
We'll keep you posted on this one, but all things aside, we wish the Biebs a speedy recovery!
