Well, you can't please 'em all.
It seems that film director Duncan Jones wasn't overly impressed with Lady Gaga's tribute to his dad at the Grammys, despite it going down pretty well both critically and publicly.
He tweeted a somewhat cutting remark that was the dictionary definition of the word 'gaga', which seemed to accuse the pop star of "infatuation or excessive enthusiasm" and being "mentally confused":
"overexcited or irrational, typically as a result of infatuation or excessive enthusiasm; mentally confused." Damn it! What IS that word!?

Gaga's fanbase weren't willing to take the criticism lying down, however, and responded accordingly:
@ManMadeMoon She honored your father In a way no other artist would.

@HausOfJonnathan @ManMadeMoon Ladygaga put her entire heart and soul into that performance with the deepest respect and abiding love.✨ðŸ'–✨

@feraltwirler @HausOfJonnathan @ManMadeMoon It's cruel and mean spirited to attack lady gaga who gave her all to honor and entertain.#BeKind

@ManMadeMoon How terrible of you. How could you be so rude to someone who looked up to your dad and did her best when she was called to act?

Although others agreed with him:
@LadyTeapots @HausOfJonnathan @ManMadeMoon it was horrible - sorry. GG is talented but that "tribute" missed the spirit of Bowie entirely

@TheRussianista @Deir_in_DC @ManMadeMoon Not an appropriate tribute. Too rushed. Grammys has declined in quality. Gaga deserved more time.

@ManMadeMoon I'm just gonna say it was awful & leave it at that.

@ManMadeMoon that David Bowie tribute was fucking awful. So messy. Your dad deserved better #GRAMMYs

@ManMadeMoon it was bloody awful! He was the epitome of cool and this was the opposite. Oh dear!

@ManMadeMoon The world feels your pain.

What do you think? Was Gaga's tribute worthy of Bowie's legacy, or was she 'mentally confused?'
