We know from the countless reboots, remakes, reinventions and general grave-robbing of popular culture that there is nothing on this earth that is sacred.
There's literally nothing that people won't dig out, freshen up and plaster on screens for the sake of a few quid - and so it goes that we now live in a world with a reboot of Magnum PI that doesn't feature moustaches and only a perfunctory amount of Haiwaan shirts. This is the world we live in, people. This was allowed to exist.
On top of that, you've also got - literally in the first trailer - the famous Ferrari Mondial being smashed to pieces and Magnum performing an impressive feat with a look of interest on his face that's tantamount to a plumber unclogging a particularly nasty toilet cistern. Everything about this is wrong, it's lazy writing and Tom Selleck should use his remaining influence to stop it now.
