It's hard to imagine anyone but Tom Selleck in the role of Thomas Magnum, the private investigator on the Hawaiian island of Oahu - but with CBS considering a reboot of hugely successful '80s TV show Magnum, P.I., they have reportedly already chosen his replacement.
Jay Hernandez, who most recently starred in Suicide Squad and has had roles in Crazy/Beautiful, Bad Moms and two of the Hostel films as well as Netflix series Bright, has been tapped by the network for the titular role.
The update pegs Magnum as 'a decorated ex-Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator" and the pilot will be set in Hawaii.
Peter Lenkov - the man behind the reboots of Hawaii Five-O and MacGyver - is also on board as writer and executive producer.
The most important question is, however - will Hernandez grow the moustache?
