Yep, Top Gear's reportedly got the fear when it comes to BGT. Seemingly this is the second time the revamped BBC show has had it's launch date pushed back; it was apparently due to start on Sunday May 8th, but it was then postponed to Sunday May 22nd due to production issues.
Now there are rumours that it's going to be pushed back again because it's afraid of going head to head with ITV's Britain's Got Talent. A source speaking via The Mirror said: "Top Gear is already under intense scrutiny and the last thing they need is to try and launch it against ITV’s most popular show."
The Beeb didn't have much to say on the matter, with a spokesperson merely stating: "Scheduling details will be announced in due course.”
Top Gear's return has been somewhat marred by the rumours surrounding the impromptu departure of its executive producer Lisa Clark some months back. Then some eyebrows were raised over the show's presenters, then Bob Mortimer referred to it as a "timebomb", before there was all out outrage over a stunt which took place in front of the Cenotaph in London, which many found disrespectful.
