There was subtext and foreshadowing by the bucketload in 'The Bells'

The eagle-eyed amongst you may well have spotted what we failed to during the most recent episode of 'Game of Thrones', when a conversation between Varys and a kitchen girl made for an interesting revelation.

However, it seems that that was just the tip of the iceberg, as the video below demonstrates. Spoilers, obviously.

There was a LOT of foreshadowing and hidden subtext that you'll probably only have caught if you watched 'The Bells' multiple times (and paid very, very close attention).

For example, were you aware that the music playing as the walls crumbled around Cersei and Jaime was 'The Rains of Castamere'? Yes, the same 'Rains of Castamere' that is an anthem of House Lannister and was played at the Red Wedding before shizz went down.

Or did you cop that even though fire was the one thing The Hound was terrified of, he still sacrificed himself by dragging Ser Gregor with him into the fiery ruins of the Red Keep?

Or did you notice what the young girl that Arya was unable to save was holding on to?

There is plenty to ponder and scratch beards over. Maybe we've been a bit harsh in our criticism of the writing and storyline of this season, as it seems there is more depth to it than we realised.
