It's not the only new series we might see her in either.

It's been a while since Sarah Michelle Gellar has had a decent leading role to sink her teeth into. But now she has two potential new TV shows on the way.

Both are from Fox, the first is a limited series produced by Ellen DeGeneres which they have given a script commitment to. Called 'Sometimes I Lie', it's based on former BBC journalist Alice Feeney's novel of the same name.

It centres on Amber Reynolds (Gellar), a woman who is in a coma with no recollection of how she got there but knows it wasn't an accident. Terrified and trapped in her own body, she tries to piece together her memories of the past week. With a husband who no longer loves her, a sister hiding a dangerous secret and an ex-boyfriend who can't let go of her, Amber knows someone is lying — and that her life is still in danger.

Ellen DeGeneres is set to produce 'Sometimes I Lie'

The psychological thriller is set to alternate between her paralyzed present, the week before her accident and a series of childhood diaries from 20 years ago

As we said, it's just in the scripting stages, with Robin Swicord ('The Curious Case of Benjamin Button') in charge of adapting it. While he will also executive produce alongside Gellar

The other potential show in the works for the former 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' star is a dramedy described as a cross between 'Big Little Lies' and 'Catastrophe'. Called 'Other People's Houses', it would be centre on nine people who live in Los Angeles' Larchmont Village neighbourhood. Through the lens of social media, the characters navigate the emotional ups and downs of being parents, partners, neighbours and friends.

Fingers crossed at least one of these shows get the green light.
