You can get it for free via Sky Cinema
The newest streaming service on the block has arrived on our shores, so here's everything you need to know.
Paramount+ has officially launched in Ireland today, and Sky Cinema subscribers can avail of the service at no extra cost. This means all of the service's TV shows and films, including 'Halo', 'Yellowjackets' and 'PAW Patrol: The Movie', will be included.
The on demand service initially launched in the US in March 2021, planning an eventual rollout to Europe this year. Now that it's officially launched in Ireland, those who don't have a Sky Cinema subscription can still get in on the action by signing up at the streamer's website (here).
As part of their arrival in the country, the first seven days of your subscription is free of charge, then costing €7.99 per month thereafter.
The service has a collection of classic and blockbuster titles available right now, such as the new 'Halo' series, 'Clifford The Big Red Dog', 'Grease', 'The First Lady', the 'iCarly' reboot, 'Star Trek: Strange New World', 'Queen of the Universe', 'Mean Girls' and the new 'Rugrats' reboot.
Here's the service's promo video, featuring Uma Thurman and a few other familiar faces.
The service will also be the home to new blockbusters after their initial theatrical run in cinemas, including 'Scream 5' and 'Top Gun: Maverick'.
Those with a Sky Cinema subscription will see the Paramount+ app appear on their Sky TV, Sky+ and Sky Q from today. Simply head to the Paramount+ app, where Sky Cinema customers can sign up through Sky and start enjoying a range of films and shows at no extra cost. Alternatively, you can simply say "Get Paramount+" into your Sky Q voice remote to sign up.
The Paramount+ app will not be available on NOW. But, as part of Sky Cinema’s continued relationship with Paramount, NOW Cinema members will be able to stream brand new Paramount blockbusters through Sky Cinema on demand at no additional cost.
And so, yet another streaming service has joined the ranks. Will we see a shift in how the likes of Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video and Apple TV+ target potential new subscribers? Let's see if this new arrival shakes up the competition.
