That's right, that same monkey is actually still alive.
Odds are if you saw a Capuchin monkey on TV in the last twenty years, you saw Katie the Capuchin monkey.
The same monkey appeared as Marcel in 'Friends' - whom David Schwimmer famously hated - and appeared in the likes of '30 Rock', but wasn't the same monkey from 'Ace Ventura: Pet Detective' or the same monkey from 'Outbreak'.
Believe it or not, Katie the Capuchin is now in line for a pretty big role. The long-awaited adaptation of 'Y: The Last Man' is about to enter production, with Katie the Capuchin playing Ampersand, the only living male primate left in the world.
Our own Barry Keoghan, meanwhile, is set to play Yorick Brown, or Y, the only living man left in a world that has been hit by a plague that wipes out the Y chromosome, and with it, men.
While you might think that Katie the Capuchin is way too old to be getting involved in a TV series, it's actually not the case at all. Although Katie is in her mid-to-late twenties, Capuchin monkeys very often live well into their forties, so she's clearly got plenty of acting and stage performance left in her.
No air date has been set as of yet for 'Y: The Last Man', however it's expected some time in 2020.
