We couldn't imagine the show without one
The iconic sketch show returns this weekend, and audience tickets have already sold out.
As we impatiently await the debut of Jim Carrey as Joe Biden this weekend, the 'SNL' return will see the series go ahead as normal for its 46th season - and that means a studio audience.
Yes, in light of everything across the world, 'Saturday Night Live' will return to our (YouTube) screens this Saturday night in Studio 8H, in 30 Rockefeller Plaza New York City. However, with such a huge crew and cast being in the studio, audience members will have to go through a pretty hefty health check before being able to take their seats.
A mandatory COVID-19 test will be required by all audience members upon arrival at the studio, as well as temperature checks and the wearing of approved masks at all times while inside the building. There will also be a checklist of questions each person must answer to get them inside the studio.
For frontline workers in NYC, 'SNL' has also decided to set aside a number of tickets for healthcare workers who wish to attend on the night too.
With an important time just around the corner for US politics this November, the 'SNL' return is very much welcomed to light up the upcoming darker months - and we can't wait to see how Carey's presidential candidate Biden fits in amongst the cast.
Carey will be joining the likes of returning cast members Alec Balwin, Keenan Thompson, Kate McKinnon, Michael Che and Pete Davidson, who will also be joined by three new actors this season in Andrew Dismukes, Lauren Holt, and Punkie Johnson.
The season premiere this weekend will be hosted by Chris Rock - who was a cast member on the show in the early '90s and will be promoting the highly anticipated fourth season of 'Fargo' - with the musical guest on the night being Megan Thee Stallion.
