That pesky so-and-so
There's yet another 'Game of Thrones' and 'Derry Girls' crossover on the way for the second season of the Channel 4 comedy. Fans of both shows will know that Granda Joe is played by Ian McElhinney, who was Daenerys' former right-hand man, Ser Barristan Selmy, in 'Game of Thrones'.
There's yet another previous resident of the Seven Kingdoms on the way to Derry as actor Brenock O'Connor joins the cast. Brenock previously played Olly in 'Game of Thrones' - yes Olly - that little brat over on the wall who not only killed Ygritte but was also the one who put the final knife in Jon Snow when the men of the Night's Watch turned on him. Tut, Olly.

Hopefully, 18-year-old Brenock has a much sounder character in store in 'Derry Girls' and by the looks of the trailer, he is set to show up in the first episode tomorrow night. It will see the girls, and of course, the wee English fella, head off to an outdoor pursuits weekend which aims to bring Protestant and Catholic school kids together as part of a peace initiative.
Check out Brenock in action (briefly) at around the 18-second mark below:
'Derry Girls' season 2 kicks off at 9.15pm on Channel 4 on Tuesday night.
