Good luck with that.
A lot of what keeps 'Four Weddings And A Funeral' in the public consciousness and out of the trash-heap of modern pop culture is its nostalgia.
It's either the Wet Wet Wet song, it's people remembering how good an actor Andy MacDowell is, or it's just a general yen for romantic comedies. Whatever the case may be, 'Four Weddings And A Funeral' should have been long forgotten, but instead we're now getting modern-day reboots with ex-'Game of Thrones' people and the whole produced by Mindy Kaling.
It's kind of amazing to have a trailer that's not only so completely oblivious to how much romantic comedies have moved on from the '90s, it seems to be actively embracing this fact. It's almost as if Mindy Kaling - who's executive producing the whole thing - is placing in a fictional, quasi-reality where young people can afford to live in London and everyone has perfect makeup and dress sense.
So, in reality, this isn't a romantic comedy series, it's a sci-fi one. All fine, for the most part, except this quasi-reality is so mundane and crap without murderous robots or some kind of spaceship. Hell, you've got Nathalie Emmanuel from 'Game of Thrones' in there - you couldn't even throw in a poxy dragon or something? Make it interesting?
Whatever. Here's the trailer. It's... not good. The thing kicks off on Hulu on July 31st, so expect to see it on terrestrial TV any day now.
