'Room to Improve' went full meta over the last couple of weeks as Dermot faced off with Dermot Bannon to create the ultimate Dermot Bannon home.
Bannon was tasked with turning a run-down 1930s house in Drumcondra into his family's forever home and it was undoubtedly the architect's toughest project yet.
There were trials, there were tribulations, there was a hell of a lot of self-doubt and some very frustrated builders, but at long last, he got there. And in fairness, it was worth it.
The house is a testament to the architect and everyone couldn't help but be delighted for him when it was finally done.
Although safe to say, our nerves are GONE with it all.

What kind of world does @DiarmuidDesigns live in where he sits in the garden for coffee with the kids before school? Factors prohibiting such activity chez Connolly:
1. Irish weather
2. No one out of bed in time
3. Lost shoes, gear, etc
4. Homework not complete#roomtoimprove— Niamh Connolly (@niamhgalway) January 12, 2020
“Look I messed up, I released a swarm of 600 bees into the house and I didn’t realize they would affect everyone’s work. And look what’s done is done and it’s going to be more difficult but we’ll just build around the bees. I want the bees here”#roomtoimprove
