"Two more series and then I think we’re done."
Confirming what we've all been thinking, Brian Cox has said in a recent interview that Logan Roy's successor will be found within the next two seasons.
According to the actor who plays the family's patriarch, 'Succession' will end after season five at the very most.
This means we only have two more seasons to go until we see how this flush with cash, heavy on the dysfunction, family works out their differences. But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves, because season three is only after beginning (so enjoy it while it lasts).
Speaking with GQ UK this week, Brian Cox, AKA potty-mouthed and king of the one-liner delivery Logan Roy, says a maximum of two more seasons will be made and he's "done".
He said: "I would say possibly two more series and then I think we’re done. It depends what the writers feel. I know they’ve got an endgame. They haven’t told us what the ending is, but there is an endgame. So it’s just how they get up to that endgame, whether it takes one series or two series.
"I think it’s going to be hard to let go of it this early. I think it needs a couple more series before it really comes to a culmination. That’s my feeling. Because its iconic nature is just hitting, I think people are going to want two more series, but they may only get one."
What all TV fans have learned in recent years (we still haven't recovered from 'Game of Thrones'), is that it's sometimes best for TV series to throw in the towel before they become stale, especially when it's a comedy show. 'Schitt's Creek' did it after five series, and so did 'Fleabag' after just two. Ones that overstayed their welcomes for just a tad too long include 'Scrubs', 'That 70s Show' and 'The US Office'.
'Succession' season three continues to air on Sky Atlantic and NOW each week, with a new episode arriving every Monday.
