"I didn't pull the trigger"
'Good Morning America' host George Stephanopoulos will speak with the 63-year-old in his first interview since the freak accident on the set of the film 'Rust' in October.
An Alec Baldwin interview is to premiere on ABC News tonight, following the fatal shooting of producer/director Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film 'Rust'.
A visibly shaken and emotional Baldwin can be seen in the trailer for his first interview since the accident in New Mexico.
Interviewed by George Stephanopoulos, Baldwin will shed light on what happened that day on the set of the film. According to initial reports back in October, the 'Beetlejuice' and '30 Rock' actor was the one who fired the prop gun which killed the cinematographer and injured director Joel Souza.
However, in the trailer for his upcoming interview, Baldwin states: "Well the trigger wasn't pulled, I didn't pull the trigger. [...] I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger on them. Never."
When asked how a "real bullet" got onto the set of the film, Baldwin said: "I have no idea. Someone put a live bullet in a gun. A bullet that wasn't even supposed to be on the property."
Promising to be a "raw", "deeply emotional" special, here is the trailer for the Alec Baldwin interview.
Last week, a script supervisor on 'Rust', Mamie Mitchell, filed a lawsuit claiming that Baldwin fired the weapon when: "There was nothing in the script about the gun being discharged by defendant Baldwin or by any other person."
According to Mitchell's attorney: "His behaviour and that of the producers on 'Rust' was reckless."
The full interview will air on ABC in the US at 1 am Ireland and UK time on Friday.
