20 years? Now we feel old

If you can believe it, the 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' spin-off series 'Angel' turns 20 this October.

'Angel' launched its own spin-off series in October 1999, three years after 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' took over our lives. And as you would expect in this day and age of revivals and reunions, it seems that there are rumblings of something related to the series happening to commemorate it's anniversary.

Appearing on 'The Talk,' which is The USA version of 'Loose Women,' David Boreanaz who played the titular character, said that "something" was in the works.

He said, "We’re coming up on our 20 years. That’s amazing to have been blessed with a show like that. That’s really where I started my gig in this acting world. I love that character. So I will say there may be something coming up. I don’t want to give away a lot. It’s 20 years coming up this fall, and we may have something in the works."

For fans who are left wondering if Boreanaz might be back to play Angel in the future, he definitely won't be. At least year's New York Comic-Con, Boreanaz gave his blessing to other actors who might potentially take up his Angel mantle at some point. He joked, "If someone can step in my shoes and play my character, f**k, go ahead! I think that’s great, because I ain’t putting on that makeup anymore!"

Since starring in 'Buffy' and 'Angel,' the actor has enjoyed quite a humble life on out TV screens. He starred in the hit series 'Bones' for a total of 12 seasons; and he's currently starring in 'SEAL Team' which is on its second season.

In other 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' news, a rehash of the iconic series is currently in the works, from Monica Owusu-Breen. Owusu-Breen previously worked with original creator Joss Whedon on 'Marvel's Agents of SHIELD'. Her back catalogue of TV shows also includes other great shows such as 'Charmed,' 'Alias,' and 'Lost' - so there's hope for the naysayers yet.
