The drama surrounding Meghan Markle's father, Thomas, has been nothing short of soap opera-esque and like all soap operas, it's ending with an anti-climactic statement from an official source rather than the blaze of glory we'd have hoped for.
Per a statement from Kensington Palace, Markle says that her father will not be attending the royal wedding owing to recovery from recent heart surgery. The statement read, "I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health." Markle's father previously made headlines for allegedly staging shots of him reading up on the royals and castles in England, all of which he supposedly received a fee for from said papparazzo.

However, Markle's colleagues from Suits - Gabriel Macht, in particular - are reportedly headed to England for the wedding, whilst speculation suggests that Markle's mother Doria Ragland will instead walk her down the aisle.
