The 'Witcher' star said he would "love to have a conversation"
It is well established that the 'Superman' star loves his video games - it's half the reason he was cast as Geralt of Rivia. Cavill supposedly pushed hard for the part after playing 'The Witcher' games.
So it's no surprise really to see his name attached to rumours about the upcoming Mass Effect series, based off the massively popular game trilogy.
Alarm bells first started ringing when Cavill posted a cryptic picture on Instagram of himself, during 'Witcher' make-up, reading some blurred out notes. The title read, "Secret project? Or just a handful of paper with random words on it?...Guess you'll have to wait and see."
Photo editing later revealed that the words on the page matched character names from 'Mass Effect'.
GamesRadar asked Cavill if he wanted to enter the Mass Effect world: "Very much so, yeah, all depending on how they’re executing it," he replied. "The world of adaptation can be heavy or light. When I like a product, I prefer the adaptation to be less changed from the source, so it all depends."
He added: "I think it’s found a home, hasn’t it? If [the series] finds a home, I would love to have a conversation.
In November, Amazon was reportedly "nearing a deal" with EA to develop a new 'Mass Effect'-based TV series.
When asked if he had played the games he said: "Yeah. Loved it. Brilliant games. It would make such a magnificent series of movies or TV shows."
For now though, Cavill seems content to be playing just the one video game character. 'The Witcher' season 2 comes out on Netflix on Friday, 17 December.
