Stephen Colbert has made it abundantly through essentially every broadcast of his show since Donald Trump was elected that he is not a fan of the POTUS’ policies or actions.
Colbert has been showing no signs of backing down on his evident ill feelings about the POTUS, even with increased media pressure (fortunately he has the backing of the WGA).
With it is looking like Trump will continue to be the butt of the talk show host’s jokes, the POTUS has now responded in kind with a slew of words about Colbert.
"There’s nothing funny about what he says," Trump told Time about the "no-talent guy". "And what he says is filthy. And you have kids watching. And it only builds up my base. It only helps me, people like him. The guy was dying.
"By the way they were going to take him off television, then he started attacking me and he started doing better. But his show was dying. I’ve done his show. … But when I did his show, which by the way was very highly rated. It was high highest rating. The highest rating he’s ever had."
The ratings aren’t really the issue here, sir, but anyway. The President also said he thinks CNN's Chris Cuomo looks like a "chained lunatic" on television while CNN's Don Lemon is "perhaps the dumbest person is broadcasting." If he knows so much about television, why didn't he just stay there, we ask?
