The 65-year-old announced his engagement yesterday, but Elaine Hendrix's quip was savage
'The Parent Trap' is an undoubted classic, but most of us will be familiar with the 1998 remake rather than the original from 1961.
If you'll recall, the remake starred Dennis Quaid as the father of twin girls (played by Lindsay Lohan) who hatch a dastardly plan to get rid of their dad's gold-digging fiancee.
So when 65-year-old Quaid revealed news of his engagement to 26-year-old PhD student Laura Savoie, his 'Parent Trap' co-star Elaine Hendrix - who played the aforementioned fiancee - couldn't help getting involved.
Watch out for those twins. 👯‍♀️ https://t.co/Rloat1gLCy

Considering her quip has already been liked over a quarter of a million times, it's fair to say that it went down well with the Twitter audience.
The best part of all? Quaid really is the father of 11-year-old twins (although they're a boy and a girl, Thomas and Zoe) with his third ex-wife Kimberley Buffington.
He revealed the details of his proposal to Savoie to Extra, saying: "It happened on the very northernmost point of Oahu, at Turtle Bay. It was kind of spontaneous. It was very much a surprise.
"I had the ring in my pocket… It has been kind of a month-and-a-half plan… I wanted it to be private. She was actually taking a selfie of us, and I put the ring in front and said, "Will you marry me?" — and then she fell down.'"
A case of life imitating art? We shall see... but congrats to the happy couple, of course. 'Fourth time lucky', as the saying goes...
