St. Patrick's Day 2019 has come and gone

With St. Patricks Day 2019 all but a distant emerald-tinged memory, and everyone enjoying their Bank Holiday Monday, here are just some highlights of what was a great day to be Irish.

Fresh off the plane.

The term "St. Patty's Day" needs to be erased from people's memories.

'The Simpsons' knows how it really is.

Every year we still can't get over how unappealing the Chicago river looks, and hope that our green overlords don't come lurching out of the water.

Did you get your annual shamrock shake?

How every parade goes down.

Here's hoping that you weren't trying to get any sleep at 6am Sunday morning in Dingle.

There were hi-5's all-round at the Dublin parade.

Donald Trump was a busy man, heading to parades around the country.

There were dogs in hats in Armagh.

And of course, the digger robbing an ATM float in Cavan.

Dublin looked great all decked-out in green.

As did 450 of the world's monuments and attractions.

Leo Varadkar vs. Conor McGregor anyone?

The 3Arena's comic relief gig raised an almighty €250,000, which was hosted by Deirdre O'Kane.

With it all over for another year, let's not forget what the "true meaning" of St. Patrick's Day is.
