"My demons have names"
Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele are reunited once again on screen in the trailer for stop-motion flick 'Wendell & Wild'.
The movie is directed by Henry Selick, known for his darkly animated films 'A Nightmare Before Christmas' and 'Coraline'. It's his first film since the latter, which came out in 2009.
Based on Clay McLeod Chapman’s unpublished book of the same name, the film follows two scheming demon brothers Wendell (Key) and Wild (Peele), who enlist the aid of Kat Elliot — a tough teen with a load of guilt — to summon them to the Land of the Living. But what Kat demands in return leads to a brilliantly bizarre and comedic adventure like no other, an animated fantasy that defies the law of life and death, all told through the handmade artistry of stop motion. Selick and Peele co-wrote the adapted screenplay.
The cast also include Angela Bassett, James Hong, Sam Zelaya, Tamara Smart, Seema Virdi, Ramona Young and Ving Rhames in supporting roles.
The film has been in development since 2015, with Netflix picking it up in 2018.
Peele is just off the back of directing his latest movie 'Nope', a major success this Summer. Key will also voice Toad in the upcoming 'Mario' film.
'Wendell & Wild' will have its world premiere at the 47th Toronto International Film Festival on September 11. After that, the animated movie will come to Netflix on October 28, just in time for Halloween.
