"No one wants to make this movie"
The full trailer for Paramount's 'The Offer' released today, pulling the curtain behind the journey of Francis Ford Coppola's legendary film.
The limited series stars Miles Teller as Albert S. Ruddy, a producer attempting to adapt Mario Puzo's best-selling 1969 novel. Despite low expectations from Paramount, Ruddy's involvement takes the project on the journey from small-budget mediocrity to one of the world's best pieces of cinema.
TellerĀ replaced Armie Hammer as the lead of 'The Offer' following numerous sexual misconduct allegations against the 'Call Me By Your Name' star.
'The Offer' features Dan Fogler as Coppola. In the trailer, we also get to see Justin Chambers as iconic actor Marlon Brando.
Anthony Ippolito, Matthew Goode, Giovanni Ribisi, Colin Hanks, Juno Temple, and Michael Gandolfini also feature in 'The Offer'. Lou Ferrigno guest stars as actor Lenny Montana. The show was created and written by Michael Tolkin, with Nikki Toscano as co-writer and showrunner.
Released in 1972, 'The Godfather' follows the Corleone mob family, as their youngest son Michael (Al Pacino) goes from a reluctant outsider to a ruthless mob leader.
The film was nominated for 11 Academy Awards. It took home three, including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Actor for Brando. The film eventually led to a trilogy of movies, leaving behind an incredible legacy for the American director.
