Anything so we can get the series a bit sooner
Good news for fans of Netflix series 'The Crown'. Filming has officially wrapped on season 4, in spite of production running into the current global pandemic.
Filming has been forced to shut down on several movie and TV productions - including for season 2 of hit Netflix show 'The Witcher'. But 'The Crown' crammed in shooting and completed production a few days early.
Filming for the series takes place at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. Location shooting took place throughout the UK and internationally.
The new season will likely air later this year but an exact air date has yet to be set.
The previous three seasons have either debuted in November or December so expect it to arrive around then.
Season 4 sees Elizabeth Colman back as Queen Elizabeth II and Tobias Menzies resume the role of Prince Philip.
Also returning are Helena Bonham Carter (Princess Margaret), Erin Doherty (Princess Anne), and Josh O'Connor (Prince Charles).
Emma Corrin joins the cast as Princess Diana while Gillian Anderson will play Margaret Thatcher.
After season 4, 'The Crown' will have a fifth and final season in which Imelda Staunton replaces Colman as Queen Elizabeth. No other cast announcements for it just yet.
