Have you listened to 'Waking The Witch'?
There are a few 'Stranger Things' theories knocking around these days, but this one in particular has caught our eye.
Could Kate Bush's 'Hounds of Love' album have bigger ramifications on Max than we initially thought? This 'Stranger Things' theory very much thinks so. If you haven't seen the ending of season four - beware that there are *major* spoilers below.
So, Max (played brilliantly by Sadie Sink) hasn't died. During the season finale, it's up to Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) to tap into her friend's consciousness and try to save her from Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower).
The plan begins to work at first, with El seemingly overpowering the evil overlord, but then the tables turn. As Vecna gets closer to consuming Max, her body in Hawkins begins to snap just like his other victims. Luckily, however, El manages to fight back (thanks to some encouragement from Mike), saving the Kate Bush-enthusiast, and bringing her back from the dead. However, this leaves Max blind with multiple broken bones and in a coma.
Before the season finishes, El tries to find Max in The Void, but is unable to, leaving matters on a huge cliffhanger.
Anyway, on to this 'Stranger Things' theory that we've discovered over on TikTok. A user named pinks.mom has unearthed a deeper connection that could be shared between Kate Bush and Max - even more so than 'Running Up That Hill'.
The fan suggests that the Bush album from 1985 actually tells us what's about to happen to the young character going into season five, which will be the show's final hurrah. They say that when they were younger, their father told them about the album (which they have had on vinyl for years), saying that it's about a young girl in a coma. Now, while we don't actually know if this is Bush's concept for the album, it does match up with Kate Bush/Max in a coma storyline. Bush recently said that 'Running Up That Hill' was originally: "Written as the idea of a man and a woman swapping with each other. Just to feel what it was like."
What they say next, however, could spell out what's about to go down in season five.

The track 'Waking the Witch' features lots of ominous clock sounds, similar to the dreaded clock noise featured in the series. There's also a deep, disturbing voice not too dissimilar from Vecna, which says: "You won’t burn, you won’t bleed, confess to me, girl."
Have a listen to the track below - it's very creepy.
Is Max about to wake up from her coma with powers, just like Eleven? Becoming a "witch"? There is now a connection shared between Vecna and the teen, which could indicate so.
The final track mentioned in the TikTok is 'Hello Earth'. Another conceptual song, it features lyrics like: "Watching storms start to form over America // Go to sleep, little earth, I was there at the birth, out of the cloudburst, the head of the tempest // Murderer, Murderer of calm."
The final beat of the song sees Bush speak German, which translates to: "Deeper, deeper, somewhere in the depth there is a light."
Is there a light at the end of the tunnel for Eleven and her friends? Does she have to search "deeper" in The Void to find Max? And are we about to get more Kate Bush action in 'Stranger Things' season five?
It does sound just like something the Duffer Brothers might have incorporated into the storyline, but of course, this is all just one big theory. Let us know if you think this could be plausible.
