The series reunites Steve Martin and Martin Short
The crime/comedy caper starring the two Hollywood comedy legends and superstar Selena Gomez hits Disney+ this August.
Disney+ will be adding another must-see TV series to their ever-expanding Star collection, with the arrival of 'Only Murders in the Building' in the late summer.
From the minds of Steve Martin, Dan Fogelman ('This Is Us') and John Hoffman (Netflix's 'Grace & Frankie'), the 10-part series follows three strangers (Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez) who share an obsession with true crime and suddenly find themselves wrapped up in one.
'Only Murders in the Building' hails from co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman, with Martin and Hoffman executive producing alongside Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Jamie Babbitt, Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal.
Steve Martin and Martin Short have appeared in five movies together - the two friends were even due to arrive in Ireland last year as part of their comedy tour. This will be Selena Gomez's first regular TV role since appearing in 'Wizards of Waverly Place' for The Disney Channel as a teenager.
The official synopsis of the series is as follows: "When a grisly death occurs inside their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building, the trio suspects murder and employs their precise knowledge of true crime to investigate the truth. As they record a podcast of their own to document the case, the three unravel the complex secrets of the building which stretch back years. Perhaps even more explosive are the lies they tell one another. Soon, the endangered trio comes to realize a killer might be living amongst them as they race to decipher the mounting clues before it’s too late."
