The '80s icon plays Archie's mother, Mary Andrews.
Molly Ringwald has been confirmed for another appearance on 'Riverdale', where she'll reprise her role as Archie's mother, Mary Andrews.
Ringwald, who's best known to people of a certain vintage from the likes of 'The Breakfast Club' and 'Pretty In Pink', told EW that while she hasn't seen a script yet, she knows that she's coming back.
Her character last appeared on 'Riverdale' when she was trying to get Archie out of prison after he'd been framed for murder in the opening of the third season. Other than that, plot details are almost non-existent and the context in which Ringwald's character will be back aren't clear.
By all accounts, 'Riverdale' sort of prides itself on the constant twists and turns so if it turns out that she's actually a lizard alien or something, it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who watches it.
'Riverdale' is currently available on Netflix on a weekly basis.
