Looks like the rumours are true.
Westlife have announced a gig for Cork's Páirc Uí Chaoimh on August 28th, 2020.
The gig was rumoured last week, but today saw the official announcement down in Cork, with the four members of Westlife - that's Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne and Kian Egan - posting about "a big announcement on Monday."
The gig is in support of Westlife's upcoming album, 'Spectrum', which goes on release on November 8th and will see them play a worldwide tour - which will take in Cork's Páirc Uí Chaoimh. No doubt a lot of Westlife's return is spurred by the two sell-out dates in Croke Park earlier this summer.
The Croke Park gig formed part of their comeback 'Twenty' tour, which began in Belfast in May of this year. The tour took in 51 dates, with an estimated 700,000 tickets sold worldwide, with the tour completing in Indonesia just at the beginning of this month.
Páirc Uí Chaoimh has recently undergone a massive redevelopment, with the stadium hoping to be able to attract big names in the future. Ed Sheeran played three, sold-out concerts at the stadium in 2018, with Rod Stewart also playing a gig in May of this year.
Tickets for Westlife's gig will go on sale this Friday at 9AM, priced at €59.50 each plus booking fee.
