With Elton John turning 70 on Saturday, the star hosted one of his trademark big parties to celebrate.

Of course, it wouldn't be a proper Elton John party without a star-studded guestlist and the likes of Katy Perry, Jon Hamm, Neil Patrick Harris and James Corden were in attendance to help usher in the musician's seventh decade.

Other famous faces who couldn't be there - including Bono, David Beckham, Prince Harry and Ellen DeGeneres - recorded video messages that were played at the bash, which was hosted by actor Rob Lowe and which raised money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation and UCLA's Hammer Museum.

Of those who were in attendance, however, two of his fellow musicians serenaded him with a song to remember.
