It is apparently a "distinct possibility" that former Britpop foes Noel Gallagher and Damon Albarn will record together in the very near future, if reports in NME are to be believed. The magazine reveals in an interview with Albarn that he and Gallagher have discussed plans to record music together "at least once", in words that would have caused a seismic pop music implosion had they been uttered in the mid-90's.

"I still see Noel from time to time. We text a bit", Albarn told the magazine. "I can imagine [recording together] being a very distinct possibility at some point in the future. But, as yet we haven't really talked about it, although..."

Albarn wasn't done, though, and revealed a few more tantalising nuggets of information. "OK we have [talked] a little bit. We're talking. It's not anything to get excited about yet. I mean, he's doing his thing. He's finishing a new record. I've got my record coming out, but the principle of us making music together is something...you know, it would be fair to say , we discussed it at least once."

Noel drew significant ire from his brother Liam when he performed alongside Damon Albarn and his Blur colleague Graham Coxon last year at a charity concert and has never been shy to talk about either of them in press during the subsequent months.

Damon Albarn will release his debut solo LP 'Everyday Robots' later this year.
