Damon Albarn's debut solo LP Everyday Robots will be one of 2014's most interesting records. Whether it be with Blur, Gorrillaz or the myriad other acts that he's lent his talents to, Albarn has rarely failed to creatively push the boat out, continually challenging people's perceptions of him as a musician.

In advance of Everyday Robot's late April release, Damon debuted a stripped-down acoustic version of a brand new track called 'Lonely Press Play' on Dermot O'Leary's show on BBC Radio 2 which you can hear above.

We wonder if this bare-bones version of the track will resemble the finished album version at all but one thing is for sure, this is absolutely steeped in melancholy and pretty far removed from the majority of Albarn's work that we've heard thus far. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
