Tabloid reports today suggest each of the Spice Girls could be doing a six-week run in Vegas.
After the sold-out success of their Ireland and UK tour, the Spice Girls could very well be back on stage in the next year or so.
The Mirror reports today that the Spice Girls are looking at a potential six-week residency in 2021 in Las Vegas, which will earn each of them close to €4 million. The big draw for the Spice Girls, as well as the huge pay cheque, is that the six-week run will take place during the school holidays for their children.
While nothing has been officially confirmed or announced, the Spice Girls have said repeatedly that they're keen to continue performing live when the opportunity is right. Mel B told BBC Radio 2 on Friday that she hopes to play the 50th anniversary of Glastonbury with the Spice Girls next year in the Legends Sunday slot.
"I said seven years ago we’re going to go on tour and, you know what, it happens to be Glastonbury’s 50th anniversary next year... I think that would be a really good thing to do. The girls will kill me for saying it but I don’t care, I think we owe it to our fans and ourselves. I’d love that," said Mel B.
While she made no mention of a Las Vegas residency, it's certainly a lucrative opportunity for fellow pop acts like the Spice Girls. Britney Spears reportedly earned $15 million per year for her Vegas residency, amounting to close to $400,000 per show. Celine Dion, meanwhile, picked up close to $500,000 per show for her Vegas residency.
So far, the Spice Girls have not yet commented on the Mirror's report or whether or not the rumours are true.
