The frontman developed symptoms in Amsterdam
The Rolling Stones may be septuagenarians, but they're still capable of turning in a high-energy rock 'n' roll performance.
However, the wind has been taken out of their sails somewhat as they have been forced to cancel a date on their Sixty tour after frontman Mick Jagger tested positive for Covid-19.
The 78-year-old developed symptoms earlier in the day, before the band were due to play the Johann Cruiff Arena in he Dutch capital.
Jagger took to social media to apologise to fans, saying "I’m so sorry that we’ve had to postpone the Amsterdam show with such short notice tonight.
“I have unfortunately just tested positive for Covid. We aim to reschedule the date ASAP and get back as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Mick.”
The band later released a statement saying that they were "deeply sorry for tonight’s postponement, but the safety of the audience, fellow musicians and the touring crew has to take priority."
The Rolling Stones are due to continue their tour in Bern, Switzerland on Friday, followed by a date in Milan on June 21st and London on June 25th.
Get well soon, Mick!
