The Los Angeles rock titans announced the date as part of their world tour
The first name for this year's Electric Picnic has slipped through the net - and it's a big one.
Although the official line-up has yet to be revealed, reunited rock icons Rage Against the Machine appeared to confirm themselves for the festival with the announcement of a world tour last night.
Following an extensive run across the US, they'll hit Europe for a slew of festival dates. That includes Ireland's biggest festival at Stradbally on September 4th.
Considering their calibre, we can make an educated guess that Zach de la Rocha and co. will be the headliners on Friday night. The festival runs from September 4th - 6th.
The band, who formed in 1991, went on hiatus in 2011 but announced their intention to reunite and tour last November.
Electric Picnic 2020 is already sold out. The official line-up announcement usually comes around mid/late March - so watch this space for more.
