The disgraced singer will appear in court in Chicago next week
Things continue to go from bad to worse for disgraced r'n'b' star R. Kelly.
The Chicago singer's career has slowly unravelled over the past couple of years, as allegations of sexual assault, abuse and even of him holding young women against their will in a 'cult' have surfaced.
Although Kelly has denied every accusation, in February 2019 ten counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse against four women were brought against him. He has since been released on bail.
Now, a further eleven counts have been added to his charge sheet, relating to sexual assault and abuse of a minor between the age of 13 and 16.
His lawyer Steve Greenberg confirmed that the new charges were related to one of the four women who currently alleges abuse, rather than a new accuser.
#RKelly was NOT charged with a new case. He was recharged in an existing case, same alleged victim and time (a decade ago) It changes nothing

#RKelly These are the same conduct, just charged differently, same alleged victim, same time frame, same facts. We expect the same results

The maximum prison sentence for criminal aggravated sexual assault is 30 years. Kelly will appear in court in Chicago on June 6th to answer the new charges.
