Bjorn Ulvaeus said that fans can expect to hear new songs soon
It sounds like the opening line of an ABBA song: "We've heard it all before, don't know who to believe..." - but apparently new ABBA music is en route and will 'definitely' be released in 2021.
In recent years, band member Bjorn Ulvaeus has promised fans that new music was on the way but it seemed that the pandemic scuppered any chance of its release last year.
Now, Ulvaeus has once again said that fans will hear new ABBA music this year and that the foursome had met in a Stockholm studio to discuss the songs.
"There will be new music this year, that is definite, it’s not a case anymore of it might happen, it will happen," he told the Herald Sun. "We’re really, really good friends. The four of us stand in the studio for the first time in 40 years and there’s just something in knowing what we’ve been through.
"It’s hard to describe, but there are such strong, strong bonds between us."
According to rumours, the iconic pop band recorded five new songs, with one described as 'a pop tune, very danceable' and another as 'more timeless, reflective.' Two song titles also leaked - 'I Still Have Faith in You' and 'Don't Shut Me Down'.
The four members were apparently in London last year when restrictions were lifted to film for their avatar show.
Fingers crossed that we actually get to hear new music this year...
