The 2009 pop tune has soundtracked many peoples' celebrations this weekend
There are many songs that could soundtrack a nation's jubilance (or at least some of a nation's jubilance) at the long-awaited vanquishing of Donald Trump - but the American people have chosen one unlikely tune.
Miley Cyrus's 'Party in the USA', released before her 'Bangerz' album and career reinvention (i.e. when she was still just your average teenybopper) has shot back into the charts since Joe Biden and Kamala Harris's win was declared on Saturday.
Cyrus just released a new collaboration with Stevie Nicks, but it's her 2009 hit that's striking the right note at the moment.
She recognised this by posting a jokey meme showing Biden apparently playing the song into a microphone (which he actually did with 'Despacito' earlier this year):
It's easy to see why the song has re-entered the charts, considering the amount of people who are playing it and celebrating it - both in real life and and on social media...
