She duets on 'Nothing Else Matters' with Elton John on the forthcoming covers album
Elton John sings Metallica? We'd say stranger things have happened if we hadn't just lived through the year we've had. Basically, anything is possible these days.
And now that exact scenario is taking place - all thanks to Miley Cyrus.
Last October, Cyrus announced her intention to record a Metallica tribute album, having first publicly shared her love for the metal titans with a cover of 'Nothing Else Matters' at Glastonbury in 2019. She has also said that her new album 'Plastic Hearts' was influenced by Messrs. Hetfield, Ulrich and co.
Now, it seems that her covers project is already well underway - and with some big names attached, too.
Elton John, acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and Chad Smith, drummer with Red Hot Chili Peppers, are among them.
She told Capital FM's breakfast show: "I did a Metallica cover of ‘Nothing Else Matters’ featuring Elton John on piano. I’ve got Yo-Yo Ma, Chad Smith; so many all-stars. I’m so excited about this collaboration. I’m really stoked. I love when ingredients don’t quite fit."
There's no word on when it might be released, but watch this space.
