Oasis have been nominated for the first time

Most musicians would be flattered by the prospect of being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, but then again, most musicians aren't Liam Gallagher.

The former Oasis frontman, who is releasing a collaborative album with Stone Roses guitarist John Squire next month, has been nominated for inclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with Oasis, as the band has officially reached the '25 years since their first release' milestone required of inductees.

However, the younger Gallagher brother is not impressed as he took to Twitter/X to share his views on the nomination.

'Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS LG x," he wrote.

Responding to fans in further tweets, he called the nomination "a load of bollocks" and "a joke", and said "I don’t need some wank award by some geriatric in a cowboy hat."

When a fan said that Oasis deserved to be inducted, he replied: "Not as much as Mariah [Carey, who is also nominated this year] she smashed it."

He also agreed with a fan who joked that "Shania Twain needs to be in waayyyy before Oasis".

As for the prospect of him turning up to the induction ceremony if Oasis were to receive the honour, he said "The little fella [Noel] loves hanging out with celebrities so he’d prob go as for me I’m washing my hair and having a pedicure and a manicure."

A potential excuse for Oasis to reunite? Don't count on it...

Other nominees this year include the late Sinead O'Connor, Cher (who also recently told the R&R Hall of Fame to "go f**k themselves") and Sade.
