Grohl also invited her to play with the Foo Fighters the next time they're touring the UK
If there's been one feel-good music story to emerge from this horrorshow of a year, it's Dave Grohl's burgeoning friendship with Nandi Bushell.
The 10-year-old drummer from London first appeared on Grohl's radar when she challenged him to a drum battle, and since then they've traded videos back and forth on Twitter - with Grohl even composing a superhero 'theme song' for the youngster.
Now, thanks to a call arranged by the New York Times, the pair have connected in real-time for the first time, and there are big plans afoot for a collaboration.
The Foo Fighters frontman very sweetly put Bushell - who calls him 'Mr. Grohl' - at ease by joking "I can’t believe I’m talking to you. I feel like I’m meeting a Beatle," before suggesting that they team up instead of battling each other. "We should make a song together. Do you want to do that?," he said, adding "I'm not playing drums, I’ll tell you that!"
Grohl also invited Bushell to jam with the Foo Fighters the next time they're playing the UK. The band have just announced their new album 'Medicine at Midnight', to be released on February 5th.
