The ceremony will take place in London on May 11th

Female artists dominated the recent Grammy Awards ceremony - and the nominations for this year's BRIT Awards suggests that next month's shindig may play out similarly.

The UK music industry's delayed celebration usually takes place in late February, but will now be held on May 11th.

As you may have heard, Dublin's Fontaines D.C. picked up their first BRIT nomination in the 'Best International Group' category. Belfast electronica duo Bicep have also been nominated in the 'Best British Group' and 'Breakthrough' categories (even though they have been together since 2009.)

Elsewhere, Dua Lipa, Arlo Parks and Celeste have picked up three nominations each, while Little Mix have notched up their first nomination as a trio since Jesy Nelson's departure. Four of the five 'Best Album' nominees are women.
