The Scottish band say it's "not in the spirit of Glastonbury"
The Glastonbury line-up for 2020 is currently being nailed down.
However, some recent reports claimed that one of the biggest bands on the planet have turned down the opportunity to headline the festival.
Fleetwood Mac were allegedly approached to play in June 2020, and given their legendary status, fans were very excited at the prospect. Reports claimed that talks between the band and Michael and Emily Eavis broke down regarding money, with an 'insider' telling The Sun: "Ultimately, while Mick Fleetwood was up for it with the money on offer, other members didn’t feel it was worthwhile.”
Now, Biffy Clyro frontman Simon Neil has shared his rather forthright views on the matter.
"Look at Fleetwood Mac," he told the Daily Star. "There’s not enough money for them, those cheeky bast**ds!
"It is such a shame isn’t it? It’s not in the spirit of Glastonbury, it’s not about the money. If the Rolling Stones can do it, Kanye did it, U2, and you’re telling me Fleetwood Mac can’t? F*** it, no way."
Amongst other headliners rumoured for Glasto are Paul McCartney, Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift. So far, the only act confirmed has been Diana Ross in the Sunday afternoon 'Legend' slot.
