The 57-year-old musician died in 2016 without leaving a will
It's been almost four years since the passing of the legendary Prince, and it looks like a line (of-sorts) has finally been drawn under his death.
In April 2018, the musician's family had brought a 'wrongful death' lawsuit against the hospital that treated him for an overdose of the painkiller fentanyl less than a week before he died. The Minnesota doctor who treated Prince in the weeks before his death and the pharmacy that filled his prescriptions were also named as defendants.
Prince's estate alleged that they failed to prevent his death by diagnosing and treating his addiction.
However, AP now reports that the lawsuit has been "quietly dismissed in recent months, suggesting family members have reached settlements with defendants."
Prince died of an accidental overdose of the opioid fentanyl, which is 50 times stronger than heroin. He died without leaving a will - and although this legal matter has been resolved, the tussle for his estate (once estimated to be worth $200 million) amongst his potential heirs continues.
