The actor dishes on his least favourite movie that he starred in
Are you sure it's not 'Bright', Will? Or how about 'After Earth'? We could go on...
Will Smith has officially crowned his worst movie and its certainly one you might have blocked out of your brain for being quite terrifically bad.
Taking part in GQ's 'Actually Me' YouTube series, the 53-year-old went "undercover" on Twitter ("It's a French company? Twittere") and other social networks, answering fan questions spanning his entire career, which were posed to the actor on various platforms.
Anyone reading this article has more than likely grown up watching Will Smith content, whether it be his break-out role on 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air', his iconic music videos, or his endless movie career including such highlights as 'Men In Black', 'I Am Legend' and 'Aladdin'. But oh girl, does he also have some stinkers.
When asked what he considers as the best and worst movies from his long-standing career, Smith says his top is a tie. He says: "For the best, I think it’s a tie between the first 'Men In Black' and 'Pursuit Of Happyness'. For different reasons, those are the two almost-perfect movies."
For his worst, however, he chose an action film from 1999: "I don’t know, 'Wild Wild West' is a thorn in my side.
"To see myself in chaps… I don’t like it."
'Wild Wild West' starred Smith opposite Kevin Kline, Kenneth Brannagh and Salma Hayek and blended 19th Century American cowboys with big artillery weapons and missing scientists, creating one big mess. The movie has a Rotten Tomatoes "Rotten" certificate with a 17% critics certificate.
It's a pretty wholesome video to watch in its entirety, but if you're looking for this specific moment then head to four minutes and 30 seconds into the video.
As for the best-ever song by the songwriter, Smith says it's 'Summertime' (unless you count 'The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' theme song - which we absolutely do).
Speaking of 'The Fresh Prince', the series is getting a reboot. The upcoming drama reinterpretation will air on Peacock in the future, with Will Smith and 'Bel-Air' creator Morgan Cooper developing the series together.
