Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg video game adaptation will release in February
The latest trailer for 'Uncharted' has been released ahead of its February release date.
Tom Holland stars as Nathan Drake while Oscar nominee Mark Wahlberg stars as Drake's mentor Sully.
The first trailer was released in October and indicated the game would be a mash-up of the games' different storylines as opposed to adapting one particular game in the series.
In the new trailer, we see the introduction of a plotline concerning Nathan Drake's brother, which of course was the main storyline of 2016's 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.'
We also see a bit more of the plane set-piece from the first trailer, which was a major set-piece in 2011's 'Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.'
The trailer is more action-packed than the first trailer, and we got a bit more insight into Antonio Banderas' villain character.
'Spider-Man: No Way Home' star Tom Holland plays Nathan Drake, a young aspiring fortune hunter who believes he is the descendant of famed English explorer Sir Francis Drake.
Mark Wahlberg plays his seasoned and wise mentor Victor "Sully" Sullivan, who possesses a trademark moustache in the games that the trailer depicts.
An 'Uncharted' film has long been in the works, with everyone from David O Russell ('The Fighter', 'American Hustle') and Neil Burger ('Limitless', 'Divergent') attached to direct at various stages, with long-standing internet demands to cast Nathan Fillion in the Nathan Drake role going unanswered.
'Venom' and 'Zombieland' director Ruben Fleischer was eventually settled on as the choice to direct.
The first game in the series was released in December 2007 for the PlayStation 3 and received praise for its writing and graphical quality.
The 'Uncharted' series is developed by Naughty Dog, and their success with the 'Uncharted' games led them to create the critically-acclaimed 'The Last Of Us' which is also receiving a big-budget adaptation.
'Uncharted' is set for release in February of 2022.
