Costing $71.3 billion, the Disney / Fox merger took over a year to complete since it was first announced.

After a year and three months in delays, the Disney / Fox merger is complete - with the deal officially closed late last night.

Acquiring large chunks of 21st Century Fox, including the rights to a number of valuable TV and movie franchises as well as takes in Hulu, National Geographic and the FX Networks, Disney has already added the likes of 'Deadpool, 'The Shape of Water' and 'The Simpsons' to its official site.

Now that the deal is complete, there's basically a laundry list of franchises that now come under the Disney banner, not to mention a number of TV shows with the potential to be turned into movie franchises as well.

'Avatar', 'Deadpool', 'X-Men', 'The Simpsons', 'Alien', 'Predator', 'Die Hard', 'Planet of the Apes' and countless others are now Disney franchises under the deal, as well as movies like 'The Shape of Water', 'The Revenant' and 'Widows' also come as part of Fox Searchlight.

So far, Disney have announced no concrete plans as to what's happening with any of these new movies. Kevin Feige, the head-honcho over Marvel Studios, has said that 'X-Men' will likely become part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as will 'Fantastic Four' and other characters previously under the Fox banner.

As for 'Deadpool', Ryan Reynolds didn't seem too worried about Disney blunting the R-rated vibe of his character, tweeting this the day before the deal was officially announced as closed.
