FINALLY
It looks like the long-awaited sequel slash spin-off to cult classic 'The Big Lebowski' is finally coming to screens.
To give you an idea of how long this has been in the works, the last time we reported on a 'Big Lebowski' follow-up was two years ago.
'The Jesus Rolls' is the name of the upcoming movie. It focuses on John Turturro’s Jesus Quintana.
Turturro writes and directs the film as well as reprising the fan favourite character. The Coen brothers have given their sign off.
In the supporting cast is Bobby Cannavale, Audrey Tautou, Jon Hamm, Susan Sarandon, and Pete Davidson.
'Going Places' was the original name of the film. Filming actually took place back in 2016 but the editing process caused a delay.
According to the official synopsis, it follows a trio of misfits whose dynamic evolves from being sexually charged into a love story. When they make enemies with a gun-toting hairdresser, they go on the run from the law, from society and from the hairdresser.
Turturro, Cannavale and Tautou are the trio.
Turturro said in an official statement:
“It feels like a good time to release a transgressive film about the stupidity of men who try and fail and try better to understand and penetrate the mystery of women.”
'The Jesus Rolls' hits cinemas in early 2020.
